Deadliest Catch Greenhorn Josh Warner arrested for Bank Robberies
Jan 1st, 2010 by admin
For those of you who remember Josh Warner as a greenhorn on the Wizard during last season, it seems he has been arrested and charged in connection with at least three bank robberies. The arrest occurred after the vehicle he was riding in was pulled over in a routine traffic stop by Illinois Police. He was being held on $US30,000 bail in the Tazewell County Jail. The first of the robberies occured in October of 2007, well before his 15 minutes of fame on the show, however the remaining two robberies occurred just a few months ago in August 2009.
EUGENE, Ore. — A “Deadliest Catch” fisherman who is suspected of robbing three banks has been arrested in Illinois, officers said Thursday.
Eugene police were notified Wednesday that Joshua Warner, 23, was taken into custody in East Peoria, Ill.
Warner is wanted by Eugene police in connection with the following robberies:
* Oct. 19, 2007 — Washington Mutual Bank, 2840 Willamette St.
* April 3, 2009 — Pacific Continental bank, 1450 High St.
* August 28, 2009 — Pacific Continental bank, 1450 High St.
The suspect was accompanied by another man during the Aug. 28 robbery.
Warner, a former Oakridge resident, appeared as a greenhorn crew member aboard the Wizard during the 2008-09 Alaskan king crab season. “Deadliest Catch” airs on the Discovery Channel.
What a doofus. He didn’t even wear a mask during the robberies. I always wondered whether it was all an act on his part when he was on the Wizard. What he did just didn’t add up to be honest. Go figure. Actually, if you want to avoid attention, being out on the Bering Sea would do it but don’t work on a boat that is being filmed for one of the most popular shows on cable TV!
What a doofus. Might as well have signed up for his own “America’s Most Wanted” segment. I guess that’s the good news about reality shows–who could have predicted they would be an unexpected tool of law enforcement?
I know Josh he’s my oldest friend and he has more balls and can work harder any of you sissies than you sissies. He stole from the banking system, that has been stealing from the people since they started, and shared everything he’s every had with the less fortunate. What have you people done with your lives?
Well Dan, i guess in your small little world robbing banks is o.k., but here in real world, it’s AGAINST THE LAW!!!!!
Dan,
If you actually believe that statement you made then I think you are even dumber then someone who rob a bank and then try to keep a low profile by going on a national television show and then coming back and robbing the same bank. Let’s not try to make him the next Robin Hood with the whole steal from the rich give to the poor. He’s a criminal who threatened the lives of those tellers, don’t try to make him a hero, just shows you aren’t much better in my opinion.
What have I done with my life. I have helped raise money for cancer research, I donate time at my local area food bank, and give annual contributions to our city animal shelter. I must say, I have never even thought of robbing a bank. And for you to try and justify it makes you look as much the loser as Josh himself during his 15 minutes of fame. He will soon be giving to the less fortunate in prison, I am sure he will be someones b@#ch as soon as he enters. Hold on tight to the soap Josh.
If you cant do the time, dont do the crime.
It sounds like Dan may be throwing his “oldest friend” under the bus for actually saying that he did it on a website. What a rocket scientist!!!! Maybe Dan was the partner in the robberies and he had gotten a good chunk of it… hint: giving to the less fortunate… I hope that they prove it and go to jail. Besides he was a BIG whiner on the show. They should’ve fired him. Hopefully this news doesn’t hurt the Wizard crew or the show.
I just don’t know what to think….He wasn’t cut out to be a fisherman in the Bering Sea apparently. It takes real men to do that. He’s just a peeon that’s still wet behind the ears and deserves whatever they throw at him.How stupid can you be Josh?????
Well I’m glad I get to press people’s button’s these statement’s don’t mean anything they could all be lie’s as far as a court goes. To the man who gave his money to cancer research, do your own research. A man who’s wife went though painful chemo-therapy invented a way to successfully remove cancer cell’s with radio-waves, that’s not painful and much cheaper. It doesn’t fit into the riches money making plan’s though. You all should thank the rebel’s of this world or just keep giving in as our human rights are taken away. Keep stepping back when your pushed. Just like the Jewish people in WW2. Josh would never be a bitch not in jail or anywhere else. S
Dear Dan,
Please do not make comments about what happened to the Jews in WWII. Do you think you could have made it thru what the prisoners of WWII went thru? I hope you don’t honestly believe they laid down because they were pushed. It is hurtful and uncalled for for you to make such comments that you know very little about. You can glorify robbery all you want but don’t be ignorant. Thank you. L
I knew Josh back in High School as well. On his own, he was a pretty good kid, but he was VERY impressionable. He had a tendency to hang out with people that were a pretty bad influence on him though. I didn’t know a lot about his home life, but he always gave me the impression that it left a lot to be desired. It’s a shame things turned out this way for him. It only takes a few bad choices.
Next stop for Josh – the Oregon State Penitentary. For 20 or so years.
bad choices! that’s right we all do make them.
that’s why I can feel sorry for this guy.
Weather he grew up in a bad home or hung
Out with the wrong people it all comes down
To choices. Its not the people he hangs around
Or his family. Its his fault he did it. And now
In jail He can pay us all back, because people like
Him, make it harder for good people to survive
They make the prices of everything go up,
All the shop lifters know what I’m talking
About don’t you.
well josh you really done this time if you had stayed on the wizard and earned your money the right way you would not be in this type of trouble instead you and your girlfriend decided to go on a bank with drawl spree in stesd you took it upon your self to find a bit of extra cash for your what were you thinking you brainless idiot just because the wizard crew gave a bit of shit over your girlfriend you probly got the shits why dont you jusy take things like a man not a mouse so now you are going to jail and do not pass go for 20 years you will have plenty of time to think what you have done doing a bank robbery with out a mask how stupid are any way
Well, anyone who can successfully complete a crab season obviously thrives in a risky environment. People who are risk-takers usually don’t restrict it to one venue. But I think it takes a risk taker with a screw loose to include risky activities in which they could end up in jail. But topping it all off by not using a mask after his face is all over the internet because of his DC stint–that’s just a testosterone trainwreck waiting to happen. If he gets any prison time, he’ll encounter a whole new level of risky behavior…unless he has already been to jail or prison, which also would not be surprising.
Josh Warner is a good man. Adreneline junkie who has made mistakes, just like we all have. He is a tree planter, crabber, wildland firefighter, rock climber, one of the hardest working men i’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. Don’t be so quick to judge. I’ve spent alot of time with him, he is one of my closest and most important friends. He really is a beautiful person with a steel set of balls. Josh Warner is a good man.
No, Josh Warner is a lazy, cry baby little bitch. All one has to do is watch the show to see that. On top of that, he’s a freakin’ moron and, because of that, someone is going to be selling his butt for cigarettes in prison soon. Good riddance! HAHAHAHA
He’s being charged with federal crimes (bank robbery) and will end up in a federal, not state, prison.
Bank robbery is one of the most serious crimes you can commit under federal law. He’ll be doing SERIOUS time.
How does a dude from Illinois end up being an Alaskan fisherman? The fishermen around here are all generational. Unusual for someone out of the blue to become a commercial fisherman.
Josh made some dumb choices, but at least he made some. Most people are too scared to act in life. Josh worked some of the hardest jobs out there. That’s why he worked on a fishing boat. He lost his job not because he couldn’t take it, but because he wanted to see his brother one more time before he did his second tour in iraq and left the show early. And yeah he stole from the banks, but that doesn’t drive up prices. Inflation and the debt attatched to the money we buy does much more damage. Look up how our money system really works. No one realizes why people rob banks. It’s because so many Americans are struggling and can’t meet there need’s in life. z

I don’t think Josh will have to worry about being raped or having his ass sold. Only people that have rape charges or touch little kids get raped. If you look up Tazewell county jail inmates on youtube he has other things to worry about.
what a commentary on people. People are able to “justify” any action rather than taking responsibility for their own actions. Of course if Josh had stolen some of their money they would want him thrown in jail. Situational ethics.
My heart goes out to all the people who were tramatized at the banks he is accused of robbing. My heart also goes out to Josh’s family and him. He faces a long hard road ahead. My son is currently serving a 22 year federal sentence for bank robbery. We found out the hard way (media) what he was really doing with his life when he would be out of contact with us for periods of time. We have been thru hell and back because of this. We were investigated by the FBI,phones tapped-the whole 9 yards. We attended his hearings and hung our heads in shame when we saw the nice innocent people there that were his victims-thank God no one was hurt. We are past the hurt and anger(for the most part) and always will love and miss our son at holidays etc. I guess what I am trying to say is this affects families also not just the accused. It is a secret many of us carry around in society everyday ashamed to talk about it-like we were a part of the crime. You probably have neighbors or co workers that you do not even know who have loved ones in prison.
Again my thought and prayers are with all affected by this.
This is such a shame. What a waste of his life. How much time is he facing? Does anyone know?
Hey there Thriving to be free ~ I’m an american, I’m struggling to make ends meet, and guess what! THERE IS NO WAY I WOULD EVER ROB A BANK!! and how can u say that it doesn’t raise prices?? Have you ever researched this? You should probably try it, you may be enlightened.
What is your deal dan?? just so you know…Robin hood is NOT real. not only are you defending a robber, but also making antisemetic jokes. Do you know what that word means? i doubt it.
as far as josh is concerned…shoulda thought it out a little better. the consequences and all. shoulda waited on your full share. wonder what kieth thinks of you now??
Josh doesn’t seem to care for consequences, otherwise he wouldn’t be such a Risk taker…….So enjoy the hard Federal time there boy. Idiot whiner.
Gonna miss Capt’n Phil, RIP buddy !
What an idiot !!! Adrenaline junkie my a$$…. Punk Bitch is more like it. I agree with the comment on the people he has affected (bank employees and their families, along with his own). Oh, and BTW, Dan …. I went back to school and became a nurse to earn more money, not rob from the System.
that is my brother and no matter what stupid things he has done i still love him and i miss spending time wit him and i think i will always wonder what was going through his head at the time. u know wether or not he was thinking about how this would affect his family and close friends. ):
Josh is a good dude and he will beat this shit in court. So fuck all u haters!Keep ur head up josh.Im pullin for u in illinois.
PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN GLASS HOUSES… NOBODY KNOWS THE TRUE FACTS CONCERNING THIS CASE WHICH HAS NOT BEEN CONCLUDED. TO FORM AN OPINION OF A PERSON BY WATCHING A TV SHOW IS PATHETIC. I AGREE THAT JOSH ALLEGEDLY MADE SOME BAD DECISIONS,BUT DOES ANYONE KNOW WHY HE MADE THOSE DECISIONS? I BELIEVE HIS FRIENDS WHO SAY HE’S A GOOD LAD, BUT LET’S REMEMBER HE IS A YOUNG,IMPRESSIONABLE MAN. WHAT THIS YOUNG MAN NEEDS IS SUPPORT. IP WARNER HAS THE RIGHT ATTITUDE. FAMILY IS FAMILY.
For people who live in glass houses…what a line of crap. Oh and his steel balls and how good of a man he is…Give me a break. If he in fact robbed these banks he is nothing than a mere theif who will become a burdon to the tax paying members of society while being someones bitch in jail.
I do feel bad for the kid, but he made his choices. This is no modern day Robin Hood, this is an idiot who squandered the opportunity to make good money in a legitimate manner.
The others my man robbing banks huh. all you people talkin shit get over yourselfs everybody has made bad choices its how you rebound off them is how you judge people. get off your high horse. He is a good person!
It’s sad that he felt it was okay to rob a bank. Yes we have all made bad decisions, but come on. There is a hugh difference in saying something that is hurtful without thinking and robbing a bank — not once, not twice…but 3 times!!! I feel for his family as they are the ones who will really suffer as they have to live with the decisions he has made.
One stupid person pleads guilty. I wonder if those on the other end of the robbery think he’s a nice guy. There are poor decisions and there are bad decisions. All people make poor decisions, but there are people that make bad decisions and applauding them or justifying them does not dimish their stupidity, carelessness and disregard to all. If he wants to be “tough” and be a “man” then have a family with children and do it the honest way while being a good role model to the children. That is tough! Crab fishing, rock climbing is nothing. Try being a mother or father and walk the line of honor and respect.
I am surprised at how many people are standing up for Josh’s actions. Sometimes we may feel that we are owed something, I get that. Life is cruel, life is hard, etc., etc. People have a hard time coping with everyday things. But just as you would not want to be robbed or threatened, that is the right of everyone else. What would Josh or his supporters think if THEY were the bank tellers who were threatened with death? That it’s ok because he had a hard childhood? NO! They may see the reasoning in it, but that doesn’t make it ok. Josh has to face the consequences, whatever they may be. And to the person who posted that a guy should do his own cancer research…are YOU a scientist? I doubt it.
Josh is a bellend.
I have fought for uglier kids in prison
I can it to see Josh puckered up I wont even spit on it.. send him on to us at San quentin
I guess he entered a guilty plea because he’s innocent?
I worked with Josh for two years fighting fires in Oregon. He was an all right kid, and I’d call him a friend. I’m saddened to find out that he’s in prison.
Strangely enough, I also worked for the same company and at the same time with Cooper Weatherby, another Deadliest Catch crewmember. Cooper wasn’t what I’d call friendly. A bit arrogant and self-important, but not friendly.
Dan: I hope Josh gets a$$fucked in prison and gets AIDS then spreads it to you during the conjugal visits where you suck on his wiener. You got that??
Oh, AND, Josh was the laziest guy I’ve ever seen that’s why he got $hitcanned. I’d have thrown his scrawny butt overboard after throwing him inside a crab pot. Yeah that’s right you got that Dan?
I remember Josh now, At the time I could not understand why he was whining about his “girls pic”
1. You are new
2. Its not your boat
3. keep your mouth shut, its not that important , take down the friggin pic!
To go whining to the capt, was such a loser thing to do. His friends say he was a good guy and maybe he was but also just from the show we could see he was unrealistic in his expectations when it came to REAL LIFE which I guess is the reason he is in the trouble he is in now. I think it is going to be HARD GOING trying to ‘GROW-UP” in prison & I feel sorry for him. P.S I thought Capt Phil was wonderful & I hope he is finally gettin some rest.
It is a shame to see Josh get himself into this mess. Speaking from someone who knows his history and family life, honestly, it is the best thing that could happen to him. He needs to be locked up before anyone else is victimized by him. He’s had countless opportunities to reform himself and countless state money poured into him, but he never accepted that help. As for Dan Gustus… You are a joke. Always have been and always will be. No wonder your ENTIRE family (and I do mean ENTIRE family) is in the system with a belief system as screwed up as yours. Keep blaming all law abiding citizens, Dan….really got you, Timmy, and the rest of your family far didn’t it?? Idiot.
How about we learn how to spell on here! Oh, and Dan, The world doesn’t owe you or anybody else ANYTHING. You do have to work for what you earn that’s the way the real world works. Sometimes it sucks, but you have to suck it up and deal. As far as him being a risk taker….It doesn’t take balls to rob a bank, it takes $hit for brains. lp, I am sorry for your family, I’m sure he was a good kid who made dumb decisions and now you have to hear bad things about him. There is good in almost everybody and I’m sure there was good in him also. But if you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.
Josh seemed to be a bit lazy and a sniveler on the Wizard hence the reason the Capt let him go. It’s too bad he got himself mixed up with robbing banks though…maybe he’s just lost and looking for attention…it’s still too bad he took that route. But like any other criminal…he should be punished just like everyone else who commits a crime. Maybe being in prison will straighten him out!
@Dan Gustus: “What have you people done with your lives?”
I consider it one of my proudest achievements that I’ve never pointed a gun at a person and told them I would murder them if they didn’t do as I say.
Dan.. just shut up already and just work on taking caring of your kids…oh and to answer your question….. I have been crime free, graduated college, and am a working professional who pays taxes and abides by the law. I second Mary’s comment…. the world does not owe you nor your criminal family a dime. Unfortunately, you have taken advantage of the state of Oregon and government aid far too long!! It is sad and speaks to your values when you say that your proudest achievement is not pointing a gun at someone….your proudest achievement should be YOUR CHILDREN, oh wait…you were locked up when they were born….shocking!!!
