Season 5 Preview
Dec 31st, 2008 by admin
Well the boats are all done with the king crab season and in port for the next few weeks until Opilio season begins. More importantly that means Discovery is working hard on putting together the episodes for next season. Season 5 of Deadliest Catch will hit the airwaves some time in April with 16 brand new episodes. Want to know what to expect? There looks like there will be two new boats this season on the show, the F/V Trailblazer and the F/V Lisa Marie. You may remember the Trailblazer as being the vessel that crew member Josh White fell overboard on, prompting his rescue from the Time Bandit. The 133 foot long boat is captained by Wayne Baker and his six man crew. The Lisa Marie will be the smallest boat on the fleet measuring 75 feet overall. Many of the boats also got costly overhauls before the season to get them back in prime condition to fish. And of course, what everyone wants to know, will Captain Phil be back for the season? The answer (Stop reading here if you don’t want to know ahead of time, no really last chance)…Anyway as I was about to say the answer is no, as Murray will once again be in the wheelhouse for the Cornelia Marie at least for the King Crab season. There is a slight chance he may return in time for opies which haven’t started yet.

haven’t watched the show since oct. 2008. heck, haven’t watched anything with water since oct.
we’ll be watching to check out the katmai episode. gonna be tough, though. we’ll tape it just in case we can’t sit through it.
i know you guys will do a class show. thanks for remembering the crew of the Katmai f/v.
