I am so sorry to hear of capt phil passing. Jake an Josh my prayers are with you. I to have lost a love one I know how you feel, it will get better with time. I was shocked to hear about Capt Phil passing away. After my husband passed away suddenly in 2008, I didnt watch the show as often. My heart goes out to Josh and Jake but somehow seeing the caliber of the man that Capt Phil was his children will be just fine. Like Josh said to his father “you tought me everything I need to know about being a man”. That is what real men do with their children they teach them. If you are reading this Josh and Jake remember that his passing is only of the physical sense, your father will be with you forever in your hearts and he is with you every day in his spiritual being. Peace and love to you both in every sense of the word.

Cant believe Phil Harris died…R.I.P Phil….I have been watching season 6 and its the saddest one ever just coming to the end of it now….

when is deadliest catch opie season being shown in Uk? Season 6 stopped after King crab!

My deepest sympathies go to Jake and Josh,their family and the crew and friends of the Cornelia Marie. I have been waiting patiently for season 6, and even though I knew what was to come, was very saddened and emotional to watch last night. It just goes to show how dedicated these guys are to eachother and their captains. Capt. Phil will live on forever in the waves of the Bering Sea.

Is it me or the show look…well a little cheap this year? The imagery is not as sharp. Not a big fan of the “film” look. Discovery Channel is making a TON O’ CASH off this show. They should at least keep decent production values.

I am so sadened to here about Capt. Phil. I really enjoyed him on the show. I can only imagine how hard it is to do thast job and to have two of his children on there and have to keep the order between them. That is what made him a good Capt. and a great father. My empathy goes out to his family.
