Jake Anderson’s Father Missing Since January 6th
Jan 10th, 2010 by admin
Jake Anderson, a perennial fan favorite aboard the Northwestern, is once again dealing with a family tragedy. Many of you may remember the heart breaking episode when he received the news that his sister had passed away. Now Jake’s father, Kieth Anderson disappeared back on January 6 and hasn’t been seen since….
A grassroots search party is being organized to look for popular retired Anacortes High School counselor Keith Anderson, who has been missing for a week. And, a candlelight vigil is planned for Wednesday night.
Brian Geer, the local Red Cross director, is organizing a search party to look for Anderson and his pickup truck. In a Facebook posting , Geer said, “The goal will be to drive the shoulders and check side roads, restaurant parking lots and park and rides.” He’s asking volunteers to meet at Penguin Coffee at 8:30 Saturday morning.
Other friends of Anderson are organizing a candlelight vigil for 6 pm Wednesday night (Jan. 13) at Causland Park.
Anderson left Anacortes on January 6 to meet an acquaintance in the Arlington area driving a white 1999 Ford Ranger pickup, Wash. license plate B0811F. The truck is described as a standard cab pickup with a matching white canopy.
The Anacortes Police Department has issued a statewide notice to be on the lookout for Anderson’s truck. The missing person’s report indicates Anderson has a history of medical problems, including high blood pressure and depression. He apparently left without medications.
His disappearance has caused an outpouring of sentiment here on Anacortes Now.
A poster who identified herself as Sarah Wagner writes, “Dr. Andersonn You were always such an inspiration to those of us at AHS. You are an amazing person and touched so many lives… Please come home safe and sound. We will be praying for you and your safe return!”
Another Anacortes Now poster says, “20 years later, I can clearly see your office, a zen sanctuary before I knew what zen was. I see your kind face telling me this was a safe place. And it was, not only safe but healing. I can’t imagine my life without the impact of your help over the years. I hope to see your kind face again soon. You are loved by so many.”
Landon says “Whatever it is that you are going through, just know there are many people here that care deeply for you. Please come home to the ones that love you!”
Just a sampling of the comments that are came after the report of Anderson’s disappearance.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. May your father come home or be found safe and sound.

Jake, you were always one of my favorites on Deadliest Catch, and I almost feel like I know you from watching the show. When Sig took off his N.W. jacket and gave it to you at the end of your first season, I beamed with pride over you and felt so happy along with you. And when you lost your sister, I cried along with you. Now, I’m praying along with you for your father’s safe return. You’ll continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Be strong, my friend.
I just wanted to let you know that we are praying for you every day. We are praying for your Dad’s safe return, and that God comfort and help you and your family.
Jake, I am so sorry for you losses! You are my favorite deck hand and I have beeen routing for you since your first season. Last year was so sad and now, your father a great man, is missing. I pray the lord brings you and your family strength and peace in the coming days! Stay strong-Becky.

Has there been any progress in the search for Jake’s dad?
What burdens this young man is coping with. Please update us on any news. Blessings to Jake and family.
I am an avid “Deadliest Catch” fan and have been wondering for months if there has been any news on Jake Andersons Father. Please if there is any news, I would love an update.
I have been impressed with Jake since he first set foot on the Northwestern. He is a hard worker and does absolutely anything required of him. I hate that he lost his beautiful sister and now has to worry about his Dad.
He is a certainly a strong young man and I am praying that his dad is found safe and sound.
Jake,
I watch deadlist catch everytime it is on, you are my absolute favorite on the show! I hope the best for you and your family and that everything turns out alright, your in my prayers!

Jake…not sure if you will ever read this post, but I just found out last night about your Dad and can’t find an update anywhere so I will say that you and your family are in my prayers. I am a fan of the show, but don’t usually go to the blog’s or the websites. You are by far one of the strongest people I have ever seen! The more I watch you on the show the more respect I have for you. Always stay true to yourself.
Best wishes,
Tracey

I agree with Tracey’s post-I am not a blog-ho and have posted on a blog 3 times in my life (Faecbook fan though) and my perception is that you are a sensitive, grounded, ambitious, generous and heartfelt person. Between the loss of your sister, the disappearance of your Dad, and then flashing back to the “show” the loss of Cpt. Phil along with the job that you do, you have an old soul and have experienced more loss in your life that you should. I hope that you find the answers you need, and comfort in what you find. If there are any updates if you can give an update that would be great. I found a link to donate and will do so-all the best.

Jake, ever since I have seen the show and you, you have always been the most sweetest, kindest, strongest person on the ship. You have been through so much and my heart goes out to you. I tell my husband all the time I feel for you. I can not imagine what you are going through, but please know me and my husband will be praying for you and your family. You are an amazing person, I pray God be with you. I don’t know if or how religious you are, but I know in my darkest hour in the past, I leaned to Him the most and He has always been there and pulled me through. You are in our prayers and though I might not know you personally, God does. I hope this reaches you, I pray that God gives you peace, strength, and comfort during this time. Know that you are loved, not just by family, but the tens of thousands that watch the show. God Bless you and your family.
Jake,
#19 and 34 said it well. Through these past few years, we have ridden the waves of your stormy life, and we feel like you are family. Just know that this storm too will pass. Ride your waves, keep your head held high, persevere. Your journey is ours, my friend.
Amy
Jake,
I am deeply saddened for the hardships and trials that you’ve had to endure in front of the entire world. You are an incredibly strong man and I pray that you will not have to endure the hardship of losing another loved one. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His light to shine upon you.
Fair winds and following seas,
Tom
I believe that God is the one who “moves the pieces” in the game of life. Just believe, that wherever your dad is, he is with you and you know that he is so proud of you. Peace be with you and your family.
My heart and prayers go out to you and your family, Jake. I know that you have been through so much recently. I was proud to watch the AFTER THE CATCH episode tonight and find out that you are taking steps to get your license. Your father and your entire family are very proud of you, I am certain. You are a mature young man. Keep the faith.

Sig said it best, ” if I had a son I’d want hin to be like Jake”. Your a good kid and I wish you the best. From a Gloucesterman.
Jake- you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers! God bless
So sorry to hear about the tragic circumstances in your life right now. It is inspirational to see how well you absorb the beatings, physical and mental, that you endure crab fishing (especially aboard the Northwestern’s grind). I hope you are able to continue being such a positve, strong person. You and your family are in my prayers.
Jake, Your a good hard worker, and no mater what these people say your not a kid. your a craber! Granted im in the true deadliest job underground gold mining hehe. Our prayers are with you and your family. pull that chin up and say b.s. i can do this. if not for you for your family. God bless and hope to talk to you soon
[...] I happened to do a web search for Jake’s dad and found out that I was not an uncaring person. I had seen the photos and flyers everywhere here [...]
Jake Idk if your dad was ever found. I too have experienced loss. My mother died in 02 and my son died in 06. Loosing a close family member is the worst thing to experience. I know the loss of your father was over shadowed by the loss of Phil and that must of hurt a little. In this weeks episode you mentioned the guys didn’t ask how you were doing and you seemed hurt. I find most guys just like to not talk about it but I also know it hurts. No one ever asks me how I’m doing since my son died. My thoughts are with you.
Latest update that I’ve found from the Anacortes news.

I was blessed with three beautiful daughters.., if I had been blessed with a son I would hope that he would have the courage, heart and kind soul that you have. Life’s difficulties make us stronger. As we say in AA.., one day at a time. God bless you Jake.
