Fishing Vessel: CORNELIA MARIE
This season marks Capt. Phil Harris’ 16th year with the Cornelia Marie and his 30th year in the crab-fishing industry. As a co-owner, Phil was responsible for making the Cornelia Marie one of the top-performing boats last season, despite some major mechanical difficulties.
Phil, who resides in Seattle, will be joined this season by his two sons: Jake (who celebrated his 21st birthday while out at sea during king crab season) returns for his third year as a deckhand, this time earning full share. Taking his place on board as the greenhorn this year is his older brother Josh (23). This is Josh’s first season crab fishing on the Bering Sea, and Jake is eager to show him the ropes.
Joining the Harris clan is First Mate Roger Jensen, who has been Phil’s loyal and trusted deckhand since 1988; Deckhand Dave Millman, who is returning after suffering an injury last opilio season; and Engineer Mark Anderson, new to the Cornelia Marie this season.

HI GUYS CAN’T WAIT TO WATCH YU ALL THIS SEASON. I LIVE IN WESTMINSTER,MD. GOOD LUCK NINA
I was very upset at Phil’s comments on the Mother’s day commercial. The “F” word is no word to say on TV must less in regards to Mother’s Day. Maybe you need to reflect on your recent health problems more.
I Love Watching This Show.. But I Cry Watching The Show Where The Katmai Sank.. This Is Truly The Deadiest Job..
Phil Harris I Hope You Feel Better Soon So You Can Get Back Out There On Your Boat.. Good Luck And Be Safe..

Phil and the drew of F/V Cornelia Marie,
I have been a fan of the show since season 1. Phil you and your crew are by far my favorite. Not saying that I don’t like the other crews, but you as captain seem very down to earth even when the fishing isn’t so good. I have a great respect for you and for all of the crews out there doing their jobs in bringing us everyday american people a great food in crab. It takes not only courage and strength to be out there on those boats but heart and dedication, so I greatly appreciate everything you and all of the crews do out there on the Bering Sea in risking your lives just for the “Deadliest Catch” Hope you get to feeling better soon!!!
Phill enjoy your time with the boys both off and on the boat ….you amaze me with your love and concern for the boys ,,,are you a single parent?
Capt Phil its time to consider having an African American aboard to brave the cold and wet conditions too. After All we go to Red Lobster Too! Just joking, Im a former Marine please give me a shot at Tv and ratings history. I want to work for you! contact me at ttc524@yahoo.com
Hey T.Cannon…read the newspapers or the worksource website for washington state and you will see where if you want a job you go down to ballard or up towards bellingham and you can apply like everyone else that thinks they are badass enuff..and since you obviously haven’t seen the show where the african american wanted off the boat so bad he threatened to jump ship in the middle of the sea. i think he was on the wizard.so you would not be the first to try it out.you have posted on all their links here..fill out an application and mail it in but quiet begging it is annoying..
I first off want to say i comend ALL of you for what you do to take care of your families and urself. One episode reached my heart. during one episode one of your crew members sister past away and u made sure he got home, by putting him on another boat to town.. i hope hes pulling through and my heart goes out.. Call it a “lil” crush but i absolutely adore him! he seems so genuine.. my christmas present? LOL.. AN AUTOGRAPHED PICTURE. make one of your biggest fans holiday!1 anyways cant wwait to see yall kick ass this season, be safe!!
VALERIE
Captain Phil,
you were in eureka,ca. a couple months ago and signed one of your flyers to me. It read Hey Doug- where’s it at? I was 40 mi up the hill making sure no bad guys came on the property. I long lined for halibut 14yrs ago out of homer on the f/v carley renee . I have since become alergic to seafood after eating some escolar so no more fishing for me.My friend promised me he would take me to meet you but no one else could handle the desert eagle,so he had a friend get you signature.I had some real nice local gifts for you, but I wanted to be sure your boys got gifts as well.Maybe next yr. Thanks for the signature!

Yall are the greatest. I just watched the recap of the first 4 seasons and I feel like yall are family….
Phil: PLEASE stop smoking. You need to be there for your sons.
Hey Phil!!!!! You and your crew are the best and everyone here in Galveston, TX love you!!! Glad ur back!!!! – Holly Bowman
Josh and Jake please accept my deepest sympathy for the loss of your beloved father I cried when I read about his death. The Cornelia Maria is a beautiful boat very gracefull on the rough seas but I as a former skipper pray you have fair winds and followiing seas. and please be safe out there in season 5 and get all the crab for your father and think of every pot going into the boat your father will be there in your hearts and on board with you.
